2 very ripe bananas.

125g self raising flour. Close textured and very more ish. Repeat with the remaining cake layers and finish by spreading the remaining buttercream over the top and sides of the cake see below.

To get a smooth finish use the edge of a palette knife and drag carefully around the sides of the cake smoothing out the buttercream. Add flour milk and baking powder. Pre heat oven to 180c160c fangas 4 and line a 900g loaf tin with parchment paper mine was 19cm x 9cm x 6cm.

Meanwhile make the syrup by gently heating 50ml water with the sugar and vanilla in a pan until the sugar dissolves. 125g of salted butter. Once baked leave to cool for 30 minutes.

Butter two 9 inch round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper. Butter the parchment and dust the pans with flour tapping out the excess. Best served slightly warm.

Lightly coat an 8 inch cake pan with butter and dust with all purpose flour. Pour the mix into the loaf tin and spread evenly with the back of spoon. 185g of castor sugar.
